Private schools congratulate Akufo-Addo for reopening schools

The Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) on behalf of private school proprietors in the country has commended His Excellency Akufo-Addo for reopening schools after 9 months of school closure.
It will be recalled that President Akufo-Addo on March 14, 2020 directed for the closure of all schools in the country as part of measures to slow the spread of the unexpected global novel coronavirus pandemic.
But, Akufo-Addo giving his 21st address on measures taken to curb the locally transmitted coronavirus announced that school effective January 15 will be reopened to Kindergatern, primary and Junior High School students.
The council following the school reopening announcement took to social media to express their profound gratitude saying “Congratulations for reopening schools, Private schools are grateful. Mr President”.
Private school teachers since the temporal closure of schools on several occasion have petitioned the Government of Ghana (GoG) to support them financially because they were not paid before schools were shutdown.
