Dept. Education Minister reveals 2020/2021 academic year plans

The Deputy Education Minister in charge of Pre-tertiary, Dr Osei Yaw Adutwum says there will be some significant changes in the 2020/2021 academic year which starts January 2021 for schools in the country.
It will be recalled that President Akufo-Addo in one of his televised nation’s address announced for learners in kindergarten, primary and Form 1 JHS and SHS to commence the next academic year in 2021 amid COVID-19.
Dr Adutwum speaking in an interview with Pure 95.7 FM. monitored by Georgeweb.org said students in the 2020/2021 academic year will have the duration of their vacations reduced in other to cover lost hours amid the closure of schools.

The Bosomtwe Member of Parliament added that despite the reduction of vacations duration, there will be an effective teaching and learning as well as inter-school athletics competition when schools reopen January 2021.
