Ghana’s Education Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh says the online learning and radio studies introduced by the Education Ministry will still continue in the next academic year when schools fully resume in 2021.
President Akufo-Addo after directing for the closure of schools nationwide tasked the Ministry of Education to roll out online learning programmes for students who will be temporarily staying at home amid COVID-19 pandemic
The Education Ministry in line with the President’s directive collaborated with the the Ghana Education Service (GES) and rolled out various online and radio programmes for students in Junior and Senior High Schools.
NAPO speaking at the ongoing National Education Week Celebration at the Accra monitored by Georgeweb.org stated the Ministry will continue to roll out the television and radio programmes when schools resume in 2021.
The Manhyia South Member of Parliament (MP) noted students after school will have the opportunity to continue studies at home as they benefit from the programme on selected television and radio stations.
The 2020 National Education Week under the theme “Reforming the education sector for effective service delivery: Assessing progress” started October 27 will end tomorrow at the Accra International Conference Centre.
