Naa Koshie Manyo-Plange of the Accra-based Roman Ridge School has won the 2021 edition of the National Spelling Bee competition, the organizers of the spelling programme announced on Saturday, February 6, 2021.
The speller number 15 after several rounds of the game beat the over 55 competitors in the 15th round to win the competition.
She correctly spelt the word “Amaxophobia” which means the “fear of being in or riding in a vehicle” to win the Spelling Bee trophy.
The 11 year old takes home a cash prize of GHS 10,000, Gold medal, An engraved trophy, a fully installed Explora decoder with a 6-month subscription from DStv, a year’s supply of Indomie Ghana, Ghc 500 fuel vouchers sponsored by GOIL Company Limited and Frankie’s Restaurant meals for a year.
Naa Koshie Manyo-Plange following her enormous achievement will represent Ghana at the 94th Scripps National Spelling Bee in the USA.
