The last phase of the distribution of in-service teachers license which commenced September 2020 in Shai-Osudoku District will end at Savelugu District in the Northern Region, the National Teaching Council has said.
NTC last month (November) ended the second phase of the distribution of the in-service teachers license in the Sekyere South District in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking in an interview monitored by Georgeweb.org, the Executive Secretary of the Council, Mr Christian Addai Poku said the National Teaching Council started the distribution as piloting in 3 districts.
According to him, all in-service teachers in the country within the next 6 months will get their teaching license which would be rolled out nationwide in the 2020/2021 next academic year in January next year.
“The National Teaching Council is expecting that within the next 6 months every teacher in this country will have his teaching license, that is only in-service teachers”, the NTC official told the host of the interview.
Mr Christian Addai Poku noted the last phase will end at the Savelugu district after which the NTC will make an evaluation on the piloting and correct any errors before the nationwide rollout in 2021.
The NTC Executive Secretary furthered that those who had sat and passed the teacher licensure examination and currently with a provisional license will have to register on the NTC portal in other to get a full license.
This he said will enable the Teaching Council when distributing all in-service teachers license also distribute theirs to them.
