The Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Ghana, (UG) has asked prospective students of the university to hold on with their payment of the 2020/2021 increased academic fees until further notice.
The Student’s Council in a communique shared with Georgeweb.org indicated all students are to hold on until His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo gives further directives on the resumption of schools in the country.
According to the SRC, consultations are ongoing with the university authorities and other relevant stakeholders to ensure certain demands are met, with regards to the increment of the academic fees amidst COVID-19.
Although the Government of Ghana (GoG) has approved the increment of University academic fees, however, the Legon SRC still insist candidates suspend their payment of the fees until it says otherwise.
As the majority of universities in the country announce increment of fees for the 2020/2021 academic year, the University for Development Studies among others have reduced theirs to less burden of parents and students
