“It was not an obligation but a gesture to show teachers that the government still had them at heart. We work closely with the union leaders so those who have not been paid should work closely with their leaders and they will be paid before the end of the year,” NAPO stated.

Commenting on claims the government has neglected university graduates, the Manhyia South MP said that is not the case, according to him, the government is dedicated to employing graduates who have passed teacher licensure exams and completed the one year mandatory National Service

“Government is not necessarily interested in not employing diploma graduates, we have employed each and everyone who has passed the licensure exams and have finished their national service will be automatically employed.”
