The Government of Ghana (GoG) has reportedly commenced the distribution of the new school uniform it introduced in April last year to public Junior High School (JHS) students across the country.

The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Professor Kwasi Opoku Amankwa in April 2019 outdoors the new government uniform.

Professor Kwasi Opoku Amankwa in his address said “the idea is for them to start seeing themselves as secondary school students. They are in lower secondary school.”

The new public Junior High School (JHS) uniform which seeks to replace the popular and over 30 years “Aban jersey” has taken effect this 2020/2021 academic year for second-year Junior High School (JHS) students.

Features of the new uniform sighted by are Ghana Flag, a certificate, a graduation cap and books.

The Ghana Flag is labelled on the breast pocket of the shirt, while a certificate, which represents graduation from the basic school level to the secondary level, is printed on the right and left top and down of the shirt.
