The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in partnership with the Ghana Education Service (GES) will in due course commence a nationwide fire simulation exercise in all Senior High Schools, a GES official has said.
The Headquarters of the Ghana Education Service (GES) on Friday 9th October 2020 underwent a fire simulation exercise as part of measures to ensure the preparedness of Service in case of fire emergency situation.
The lead conductor, DOI, Micheal Ato Korsah, Deputy Director, Safety, of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) elaborated on some activities that should be avoided during fire emergency situations at workplaces.
The Deputy Director-General, in charge of Management Services, Mr Anthony Boateng speaking after the fire simulation exercise said the GES is collaborating with GNFS to extend fire safety measures in all Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the country.
“Management of GES is collaborating with GNFS to extend fire safety measures in all Senior High Schools in the country”, Mr Boateng said.
Mr Boateng furthered that the Ghana Education Service has engaged Ghana National Fire Service to conduct Safety audit in all the Senior High Schools.
According to the GES official, the report has been submitted to Management for consideration and further discussions.
