Ghana ranks 2nd on teacher status Index globally – Education Minister

The Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh says the Republic of Ghana under the Nana Akufo-Addo government is ranked second place globally on the new Varkey Foundation reports on Teacher Status Survey.
Dr Matthew Prempeh first announced the achievement speaking at this year’s Nations Building update and also in an interview with the Accra based Peace FMKokrokoo show monitored by Georgeweb.org.
The Global Teacher Status Index (GTSI) involved 35,000 participants from 35 countries worldwide in assessing the welfare and payment of teachers.

According to the survey, Ghana is ranked ahead of China.
