GES revises Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) guidelines for 2021 SHS placement.
The Ghana Education Service has reviewed the school selection guidelines of the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) for this year’s SHS placement.
The Director-General of GES, Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa at a press conference, stated that his outfit will soon begin educating and sensitizing BECE applicants on school selection standards or processes.
According to Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, the Ghana Education Service (GES) will commence a pilot of the new school selection rules on Monday, August 30, 2021, and run until September 1, 2021.
After the piloting, the final year Junior High School (JHS) students candidates preparing to sit for this year’s BECE for School will begin selecting their preferred Senior High School (SHS) for placement, according to the Director-General.
Last year, GES issued Infographics, fact sheets, and short videos in nine Ghanaian languages on the processes for the 2020 BECE candidates to improve the SHS school selection procedure, he said.
The GES Management also urged candidates’ parents and guardians to take an active role in the school selection process in order to ensure a smooth Senior High School (SHS) placement.
