According to Prof Kwasi-Opoku Amankwa, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has commenced recruitment of 16,500 newly trained teachers who completed the Colleges of Education in 2019 and has passed the GTLE.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) in a separate statement copied to Georgeweb.org announced for 2017/2018 and 2019 batch of College of Education (CoE) graduates to submit an application for employment.
The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in an interview with the Daily Graphic Newspaper indicated the Service in this year recruited 1,500 teachers who completed college of Education in 2017/2018.
Similarly, it is recruiting 16,500 trained teachers who completed their studies in 2019 and had passed the Ghana Licensure Teacher Examination (GTLE) and completed the one-year mandatory national service.
Mr Kwasi-Opoku Amakwa said interested and qualified 2019 CoE graduates could apply for recruitment using gespromotions.gov.gh to complete online application forms and upload all valid certificates before 30th October.

He further disclosed that the Ghana Education Service (GES) has plans to recruit university graduates who did Education in the various universities after the recruitment of the 2019 College of Education batch.
“The next batch will be for those from the universities and so they do not have to be worried”
“Immediately after the current batch had been recruited, the next group would be those who did Education in the various universities and had also completed the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination and the mandatory national service”,
He added that “they will be considered for recruitment into the GES to teach in senior high schools (SHS), while the third batch will be the non-teaching category by the end of this year”.
The Director-General further announced that his outfit will by the end of this year recruit about 93,724 teachers.
