GES interdicts KNUST SHS headmistress after death of student

The Headmistress of the Kumasi-based KNUST SHS, Felicia Asamoah Dankwaa has been interdicted after the sudden death of a student at her school on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.

Felicia Asamoah Dankwaa was accused of negligence by her students who following the death of their colleague vandalized her car and also destroyed some school properties.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) in a statement copied to Georgeweb.org said Regional Director of Education in the Ashanti Region will take over her duties.

Meanwhile, KNUST SHS are expected to resume academic activities which was the main reason why President Akufo-Addo reopened school for the final year and form 2 Gold track students in Senior high schools.

A source close to the school reported that some students of the KNUST SHS resumed the demonstration this afternoon but officials from the Ashanti Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) have visited the school to restore the situation to normalcy.

The Ashanti Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES) speaking to the media after a closed-door with the management of the school said investigations have begun into the matter.
