The Ghana Education Service following the sudden demise of Leonard Sam has interdicted the Senior House Master and his partner over the death of the final year student of the Kumasi-based KNUST SHS.
The Housemasters for Densu House where the late student resided has been identified as Owusu Ansah Seth (Senior HouseMaster) and his assistant Anthony Awotwe.
The Ashanti Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service explained that the two teachers interdiction is to allow for further investigation into the issue.
Mary Owusu Achiaw, the Ashanti Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service speaking to the media said the fate of the two teachers will be determined after the investigation of the special committee set to investigate the issue.
“The Senior Housemaster and the Housemaster have also been asked to step aside for investigations to continue. Whether they will come back or not will depend on the recommendation of the committee but for now, they have been also asked to step aside until the committee finishes its work,” she said.
An earlier statement from the Education Service copied to Georgeweb.org, indicated that the Regional Director of Education in Greater Kumasi will take over the duties of the Headmistress of KNUST SHS, Felicia Asamoah Dankwaa who was interdicted yesterday July 8, 2020.
