According to the management of the Ghana Education Service (GES), only second-year (Form 2) Senior High School (SHS) students effective Friday, December 4, 2020, will go on the partial one-week academic break.
The management in a social media post sighted by Georgeweb.org clarified that since the second-year (Form 2) Junior High School (JHS) students are basically day students they are not involved in the academic break.
“To all asking for clarification on the schools, JHS students are basically Day students and so they are not involved”, the Education Service said.
It has also directed all head of Senior High Schools to feed students who will want to stay on campus during the election period despite the one-week academic break effective Friday, December 4.
Students who will stay in school have been urged to continue to observe all the COVID-19 safety protocols put in place by the school authorities as part of measures to slow the spread of the locally transmitted coronavirus.
