There are currently 46 public colleges of education in Ghana, with some affiliated with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, the University of Ghana (UG), the University of Cape Coast (UCC), the University Of Education, Winneba (UEW), and the Technical And Vocational Education And Training (TVET) (TVET).

Each of the public colleges of education is affiliated with one of the public universities mentioned above, and students who successfully complete their term of study at the affiliated university are awarded certificates.
