Free SHS encourages beneficiaries to do their best in 2020 WASSCE
The Free SHS secretariat following today’s conduct of West African Senior Secondary School Certificate (WASSCE) has encouraged the first batch of beneficiaries to put in their best as they sit for the final examination.
According to the Secretariat, the Akufo-Addo government has facilitated their admission into Senior High School (SHS), processed the payment of fees, a supply of uniforms, house dresses, P.E kits, exercise books, notebooks and food through the National Buffer Stock Company, among others.
The Management of the Free SHS programme on behalf of the Akufo-Addo government said “we feel a special connection to each one of you all over the country, and we are glad to have played our part to ensure you have access to quality education”
It noted that “the government, your teachers and parents have played their parts to ensure your success, adding that “the onus now relies on you to crown it all with good performance in the WASSCE”.
The Free SHS secretariat commended the Akufo-Addo graduates of their zeal and commitment to sit for the 2020 edition of the WASSCE for School Candidates despite the novel coronavirus pandemic.
“We encourage you to put in your best effort whilst adhering strictly to the COVID-19 safety protocols. We are rooting for you and wish you the very best” it encouraged.
About 313,837 candidates nationwide are sitting for the 2020 West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) today Monday, August 3, 2020.
