Candidates who sat for the 30th edition of the BECE for School Candidates from September 14 to September 18 will on October 31 end the selection of schools into various Senior High, Technical and Vocational schools process.
The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in a statement copied to Georgeweb.org indicated the Senior High School selection process will commence from September 21 until the end of October 2020.
This will enable successful candidates in BECE to have their secondary education cost absorb by the government as they become beneficiaries of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy
As the selection of schools process comes to an end, parents and guardians of the graduates are advised to take a keen interest in the processes and be involved in other to ensure a smooth Senior High School (SHSs) placement.
The Deputy Education Minister for Pre-tertiary education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has said the NPP government is well prepared to welcome the next batch of the free SHS beneficiaries in the next academic year.
The 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) ended successfully on Friday 18th September at 2,007 centres. 531,705, candidates representing 269,419 males and 262,286 females sat for the examination.
