Education Ministry adds ‘new features’ to 2020 CSSPS self-placement module

According to the Ministry of Education (MoE), prospective candidates who sat for this year’s BECE can now make school changes at the self-placement Module when the 2020 JHS graduates school placements are released.
Press Secretary for the Ministry, Mr Rodney Nkrumah-Boateng in an interview monitored by Georgeweb.org said this new development form part of measures to ensure a difficulty-free school placement this year.
“What we have done this time around is that after you chose the schools, we have put in a verification system along the lines of what the Electoral Commission does where you can send a text to a certain number to confirm the school that you have chosen”, he stated.
Mr Rodney continued that “For the self-placement module, “now we have removed the restrictions so you can go back and change it [your choice]”.
The spokesperson furthered that the Education Ministry following the 2020 school placement has addressed all technical challenges confronting the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) module.
According to him, unlike last year that the system was compromised or hacked, there will be no cases of a system breach this year.
