Ashesi University to provide students with 20GB free monthly data
The Management of the Accra-based non-profit University has announced to provide students with 20GB of internet data monthly instead of the previous 10GB they were receiving earlier since the closure of schools.
The Ashesi University explaining the increment of the internet data package for its students said: “it is because the university has resolved to begin the 2020/2021 academic year online amid the presence COVID-19”.
It furthered that, the free package to students forms part of the Ashesi University’s efforts to support students particpate in the online academic activities.
In other for any student not be be disadvantaged, the management has urged parents and guardians to provide their wards with internet related devices like laptop and others.
The management has entreated parents with financial problems amid the outbreak of the locally transmitted coronavirus to apply for emergency funding for the coming semester.
“The Admissions and Financial Aid Office will evaluate all requests with a focus on proven need, and award funding support as required”.
The Ashesi University in a statement copied to Georgeweb.org said “it has taken steps to make emergency scholarships available to all qualifying students, but funding is still limited and will depend on availability”
