Ghana’s Education Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh on behalf of the Ministry of Education wished the about 531,705 prospective candidates sitting for the 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination Candidates (BECE) the best in the examination.
The 30th edition of the BECE for School Candidates under the asupices of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will commence today Monday September 14, 2020 at 2,007 centres across the country.
The Minister of Education in his remarks commended President Akufo-Add0-Addo for his implementation of the Free SHS policy which will see every candidate who is successful at the BECE progress to second cycle schools irrespective of their family’s financial circumstances.
The Member of Parliament for the Manhyia Constituency on social media said ” on behalf of the Ministry of Education, I wish every candidate the very best in the examination”
He added that “I am confident that they have worked hard with the support of their teachers, especially following their recall to school after the outbreak of Covid-19 forced the closure of our schools in March this year”.
NAPO further urged all candidates to be confident and avoid the temptation of examination malpractices, adding that “with God on their side, success shall be theirs”.
