President Akufo-Addo gives 2021 school reopening dates

His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo has announced January 15, 2021, March 10, 2021, and January 18, 2021, as the school reopening dates for students in Kindagatern, primary Junior and Senior High Schools respectively.
This comes after President Akufo-Addo last week met with the Cabinet to discuss what it takes before schools are reopened in the country to ensure students returning back to school are safe from the novel coronavirus.
Nana Akufo-Addo in his 21st televised nation’s address monitored by Educationweb.com.gh indicated students kindergarten, primary and Junior High School will from Friday, January 15, 2021 return back to classrooms.
He noted that first-year Senior High School (SHS) students will start classes from 10th March, with all students embarking on a single-track academic calendar.
His Excellency furthered that Form 2 and Form 3 students Senior High Schools (SHS) will return to school from January 18 this year adding that SHS 3 students in all schools, like SHS 1 students, will no longer run the double-track system”.

Nana Akufo-Addo speaking in the nation’s address attributed the gradual phase-out of the double-track system to the expansion of infrastructure at the various senior high schools, over the last three (3) years.
