Akufo-Addo wishes KNUST female Vice-Chancellor well
His Excellency President Nana Akufo-Addo, following the appointment of Professor Rita Akosua Dickson as the Vice-Chancellor for the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has wished the female VC well as she takes over.
He joined the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is also Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, to attend the investiture of the new Vice-Chancellor of the University.
Akufo-Addo commending the newly appointed first female Vice-Chancellor said he is confident that Prof. Dickson will rise up to the challenge, and excel in her new role.
Prof. Rita Akosuah Dickson officially assumed office yesterday August 1, 2020. She took over from the former Vice-Chancellor Professor Obiri Danso.
The Governing Council of KNUST on June 25, 2020, announced the appointment of Professor Rita Akosua Dickson to serve as Vice-Chancellor for a four-year term starting today Saturday, August 1, 2020, until July 31, 2024.
The female Vice-Chancellor until her appointment was the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology.
She in October 2018 served as an acting Vice-Chancellor when the Governing Council of the University asked the then Vice-Chancellor Professor Obiri Danso to temporary leave the position.
Prof. Rita Dickson again served as the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She who holds a PhD and a Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (GCAP from King’s College London.
