COVID-19: 5 apor to pass 2020 WASSCE and BECE

The locally transmitted coronavirus has made it uncomfortable and difficult for most of the 2020 WASSCE BECE candidates to learn and prepare adequately for the examination. Georgeweb.org has as part of efforts to help such depressed candidates outlined some apor or tips to encourage them before, during after the WAEC examination.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has scheduled for this year’s WASSCE for School candidate to officially commence on August 4 and end in the first week of September, 2020.
The Council has released the timetable for the conduct of the forthcoming examination which was suspended amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the country.

Avoid examination malpractice
The Head of Public Relations of WAEC, Agnes Teye-Cudjoe in a Zoom interview monitored by Georgeweb.org said the Council will this year use fingerprint scanners to check impersonation during this year’s exams.
She added that WAEC will not hesitate to cancel some or the entire subject papers should they suspect any examination malpractices after the exams.
We consequently advise all candidates to desist from the diabolic plans and focused on their efforts on preparing well and psyching up towards the 1 month and some days examination that will see candidates taking up to 8 subjects.
Watch your health
Since we are not in normal times amid COVID-19, candidates must be mindful of their health, President Akufo-Addo in one of his televised nation’s address suggested for Ghanaians to eat foods that will boost the immune system to help fight the novel virus.
Also, observing the COVID-19 safety protocols outlined by the Ghana Health Service and other Health authorities will help protect you from contracting the killer virus that has claimed many lives in the country.
Among other recommended coronavirus preventive measures are regular handwashing with soap under running water, wearing a face mask, using alcohol-based hand sanitizer, and maintaining social distancing.
Have self-belief
Believe in yourself and enter the examination hall or room with confidence and do what you can but do not let any question intimidate you because when that happens it can impact your results negatively.
Be at your centre on time
The Head of Public Relations of WAEC, speaking in the interview advised candidates to at least be at the examination centre 1 hour before the start of the examination.
The spokesperson explained that this will help protect candidates from contracting the novel disease and also enable the Council to screen them before the exams start.
Reporting at the examination centre early gives you some level of emotional stability and helps you relax for the day’s work. Late arrival can be very frustrating.
Have enough rest before the paper
The last thing you have to do is prepare well in the last few days and have enough rest before each paper. During the examination, your brain needs to be at full force to recollect, think through, and produce relevant answers to questions.
We believe that when you put this comprehensive apor into practice, you’ll pass the WAEC examination with good grades.
