4 WAEC examiners arrested for posting WASSCE scripts on social media

The non-profit-making organization (WAEC) has arrested four of its 20,000 examiners for their careless handling of 2020 WASSCE scripts leading to the circulation of index numbers, scores and centre codes of candidates.
The West African Examinations Council in an interview with the Daily Graphic Newspaper said the misconduct of the examiners lead to the circulation of some candidates scripts and details on the public domain.
The Council’s Examiners who are currently assisting the police with investigations on the leakage of scripts were picked up at Adukrom, Cape Coast, Kasoa and Accra, where they were marking the papers.
The spokeswoman for WAEC, Mrs Agnes Teye Cudjoe in the interview condemned the act of the script markers and urged the others to protect the confidential details of the prospective candidates being entrusted to them.
