After several rounds in the Quater-final stage of the 2021 edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) competition, a total of nine (9) Senior High Schools have qualified to compete in the NSMQ semi-final stage.
Generally, 119 Senior High Schools (SHSs) from the 16 Regions of the country started the preliminary stage divided into 8 Regions and Zones of this year’s edition of the popular National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
A total of 108 Senior High Schools won their Regional qualifiers of the Science and Maths quiz. However, producers of the quiz, PrimeTime added eleven (11) more schools to compete at the preliminary stage of the quiz.
PrimeTime in a blog post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh said the addition was due to the varying number of schools in the individual regions/zones, resulting in incomplete fixtures, thus the need for eleven more schools to be added.
But, sadly, 18 SHSs were eliminated after the Quater-final stage of the contest. Mistress for the quiz, Prof Elsie Effah Kaufmann confirming the qualified schools for the semi-finals level said 9 schools have secured slots to battle.
